Coaching Insights That Inspire Growth

Coaching is a partnership in which a trained professional helps you think more clearly, see new perspectives, and turn insight into action. Your coach won’t tell you what to do or hand you answers. Instead, they ask thoughtful questions, offer observations, and help you set goals and follow through. You bring the topics and the decisions. Your coach brings the process, structure, and support.
How is coaching different from mentoring, training, or therapy?
A mentor shares advice from their own experience. Training teaches specific skills or content. Therapy focuses on emotional healing and mental health, often looking at the past. Coaching is forward-looking and focused on action. It helps you get clear on where you are, where you want to go, and what you will do next. If a topic comes up that is better supported by another professional, your coach will let you know.
How do I choose the right coach?
Learn about each coach’s background, experience, and style. Notice who you feel drawn to. There is no wrong choice. What matters most is that you feel you can be open with this person and that their approach fits how you like to work.
Should I choose a coach who knows my field or industry?
It is entirely up to you. Some people value a coach who understands their work context. Others find that a coach from a different background asks fresh questions and helps them see things differently. Both can work very well.
Are your coaches professionally credentialed?
Yes. Our coaches hold credentials from recognized coaching bodies such as the International Coaching Federation (ICF). Many bring senior experience in corporate leadership, human resources, or consulting.
What is my role in the coaching relationship?
You lead it. The most successful participants come prepared, are open and honest, try new approaches between sessions, and tell their coach what is and isn’t working. The more you put in, the more you will get out.
How should I prepare for my first session?
Take 10 to 15 minutes to reflect on these questions and jot down your answers:
What do I most want to get out of this coaching experience?
What would success look like at the end of the program?
What questions or concerns do I have about coaching?
What kind of coaching style helps me do my best thinking (direct, reflective, challenging, supportive)?
Share your answers with your coach in your first session. If you want to go deep on one area or explore several broadly, say so. This helps your coach tailor every session to you.
What do coaching sessions typically cover?
Sessions usually explore your goals, what success looks like for you, what is helping or getting in the way, and the specific actions you will take next. Your coach will also help you connect what you learn to your day-to-day leadership.
Is what I share with my coach confidential?
Yes. What you discuss with your coach stays between you and your coach. This gives you the freedom to speak openly and honestly. Our coaches follow the ICF Code of Ethics.
Are there any exceptions to confidentiality?
As with all professional coaching, there are a few limited exceptions: if there is a risk of serious harm to you or others, if disclosure is required by law, or if there is a serious breach of company policy involving illegal activity. These situations are rare, and your coach will discuss them with you if they arise.
What do I need to participate?
You will need a computer or device with a camera, microphone, and stable internet, plus a quiet, private space where you can speak freely.
What if the fit with my coach doesn’t feel right?
Chemistry matters, and it is perfectly fine to ask for a change. Contact us at info@lenserfgroup.com. We will have a brief, confidential conversation to understand what you are looking for and recommend another coach. Your original coach will not be told the specific reasons unless you want them to be.
